What are all these acronyms? AiP: Artists in the Parks is a program of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission (PIPC) that positions artists as essential partners in the conservation, education, and community initiatives of Parks. This program creates opportunities for creative growth and public exposure for local artists, and encourages artistic exploration of the Palisades region. In all that we do, we aim to nurture a love, understanding, and respect for the natural world. PIPC: Palisades Interstate Park Commission is a private/public partnership that manages 100,000 acres of public land and historic sites in Orange and Rockland County. www.palisadesparksconservancy.org OPRHP: New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation manages hundreds of thousands of acres of parklands and historic sites in New York State. In the Palisades region of OPRHP, they partner with the PIPC to manage the conservation initiatives, recreation opportunites, historic sites, and public lands of the park system. www.nysparks.org The Palisades Conservancy (also known as The Friends of the Palisades Interstate Parks Commission) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established exclusively for charitable objectives to receive and maintain funds and apply such funds for the improvement of and activities in the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, and for the purposes of promoting and expanding the preservation of natural, historical, and cultural resources in the Park for the benefit of the public. www.palisadesparksconservancy.org |
